If TNA’s New Year’s resolution was to confuse fans of the Knockouts division, they certainly succeeded tonight.

Valiant babyface Mickie James cost herself the Knockouts Championship in very heel-like manner by clocking champion Gail Kim with a pair of brass knuckles in view of the referee.

And that wasn’t all! Velvet Sky revealed her plan to “take a stand” for the Knockouts division by lobbying for the role of Knockouts VP, vacated last month after Karen Jarrett‘s firing, and wanted to prove herself to Sting by suggesting a stipulation for the Knockouts match. With Sting signing off on Velvet’s idea, Gail’s partner Madison Rayne found herself hanging above the ring in a cage to prevent her from interfering in the match. (Read the rest of this entry…)

Bobby: This could easily go either way. I’m not sure if TNA would really go for Mickie losing three straight times in a row, but part of me just doesn’t see Gail’s title reign ending yet. I just hope that if Gail wins, it’s on her own accord and not because of help. Perhaps maybe Madison can stroll down, but Mickie takes her out this time, only she then turns around into the Eat Defeat and Gail Kim retains the Knockouts Title.

Cryssi: You know what, I’ll be completely honest. I really didn’t have a clue that there was a pay per view tonight. So in the spirit of TNA, where titles can change hands more times than a prostitute changes underwear (and hey, they change via lock box too), I’m going to flip a coin. Heads, Mickie wins. Tails, Gail wins. Drum roll pleeeeeeeeease…….. TAILS! IT LANDED ON TAILS! Gail Kim WINS! She’s likely going to be Knockouts Champion forever until another former Diva joins TNA. That’s all. Gail Kim and Madison Rayne are checking each other out in their bikinis at the pool earlier today when they find Traci Brooks hanging out in the hot tub. Madison gets in her face and Traci attacks her, but Gail jumps into the pool and the two of them try and drown her until Mickie James, also clad in a bikini, jumps in and chases them off.

Traci goes after Gail and knocks her out to the floor before the bell and then goes outside herself to pummel her while Mickie and Madison duke it out in the ring. Traci whips Gail hard into the steps as Mickie gets a hanging neckbreaker and dumps her out to the floor while Traci sends Gail back inside. Mickie and Traci ping pong Gail with right hands until Traci lays her out with a clothesline. Gail rolls out to the apron so Traci launches Madison at her in such a way that she spears Gail out to the floor and the heels are in trouble as we go to commercial. (Read the rest of this entry…)

The following are results from this past week’s Impact Wrestling live events, which took place on Thursday and Friday.

Albany, New York | Thursday, December 29th:
Gail Kim defeated. Mickie James (TNA Knockouts Championship Match)
When Gail came down to the ring she put her two titles right in Mickie’s face. As Earl handed the titles to Ronnie Land, Mickie shoved down Gail. Gail worked on Mickie’s left arm most of the match, which she started to do from the start. Mickie kicked Gail to the ring apron. Gail slammed Mickie’s arm off the top rope as Gail dropped to the floor. Gail kept working on Mickie’s arm. Gail hit a single arm DDT on Mickie’s worked on arm. Gail motioned for the title around his waist as Mickie sold her left arm. Gail used a submission hold on Mickie’s left arm. Mickie rose to her feet and hit a knee to Gail’s chest. Mickie hit a neckbreaker on Gail. They both got to their feet and traded right hands. Mickie knocked Gail down twice and then hit the Thez press off the top rope. Mickie hit punches and went for the win but Gail kicked out. Mickie hit a knee to Gail’s chest and went for the Mickie DDT but Gail reversed it and went for the Eat Defeat but Mickie rolled her up but Gail reversed it and pulled on Mickie’s shorts to win. Gail Kim and Madison Rayne come out to the ring and Madison screams at Brooke and Tara to get out there, and she says she will cut to the chase. She says they want to hear this, and she told them if they messed with her they would be fired, and they screwed with her so Madison screams and says they are fired. Sting’s music plays and he heads to the ring and Madison kisses up to him and says she can handle this, but he says it’s not over because he didn’t say it’s over. He says Karen Jarrett was in charge of the Knockouts Division because she had a contract, but Madison doesn’t have any power and she screams and says Karen gave her power.

Sting mocks her and screams like her and says he is going to be in charge, then tells Gail she will defend her title tonight, and introduces Mickie James as her opponent. Sting says he is going to keep an eye on Madison tonight, and he leaves as she continues to scream.

Gail charges Mickie but almost gets rolled up, then Mickie punches her and whips her off the ropes and hits a Thesz press followed by a high knee. Mickie hits an elbow in the corner and a hurricanrana, then runs the ropes and hits a dropkick that sends Gail out to the floor and goes for a baseball slide. Gail side steps her and goes to hit her, but Mickie counters with a DDT on the floor. (Read the rest of this entry…)

Street Fight : Mickie James vs. ODB
ODB rushes Mickie during her entrance and they fight out on the ramp and brawl into the ring where Mickie puts the boots to ODB in the corner and tries a Thesz Press, but ODB catches her and rams her into the corner. ODB misses a charge and Mickie drags ODB out under the bottom rope and she hits hard on the floor. Mickie covers on the floor for two, but ODB rams Mickie into the ring steps and chokes her over the guardrail. Mickie goes for her spinning headscissors, but ODB just powerbombs her on the floor and covers for two. Mickie recovers and rams ODB into the stage wall as they fight to the back,but ODB cheapshots Mickieand bashes her in the head with a trash can for two.

They both somehow get ahold of cookie sheets and fence with them until ODB cracks Mickie before dragging her to the back of the backstage area and slamming her face first into the wall. Mickie nails ODB with a broomstick and they head back to the ring where Mickie gets a bridging O’Connor roll for two. Mickie with a series of clotheslines and a dropkick to the face for two, but ODB picks her up and hits a fallaway slam and…grabs her boobs. ODB brandishes a chair and takes a swing, but Mickie ducks and superkicks the chair into ODB’s face and covers for three. (Read the rest of this entry…)
